Avoid being a mediocre sells person

Talking to much

Being a work at home sales person is not always an easy job. A work at home sales person may spend a lot of time on the phone or possibly meeting clients out their homes. Working in sales is never easy. A sales professional must constantly redevelop their communication skills and sales techniques to effectively engage their audience and potential buyers. There is no doubt that the number one most critical mistake made in sales is too much talking and not enough listening.

Talking to much is not just an epidemic in sales it has bled into the general public. People love talking and of course, they love talking about themselves. But the worst offenders are salespeople.

The best way to cut back on your talking is to start asking better questions. When you do this, your sales performance will sky-rocket. Ask open-end questions that give your customer a chance to fully voice their opinions and thoughts.

Try This

Next time you find yourself in the middle your sales pitch about the benefits of your product or service, stop, take a breath and listen. Chances are your customer will have a lot more to say than you realized.

Take the questions that customers ask you and develop them into open-end questions that you can ask new customers. Make your questions powerful and eloquent. This will set you apart from the competition and make your sales presentation a smash.

Start your sales presentation with a conversation using developed and open-end questions like the ones you came up with earlier.

Changing your communication style

By changing your communication style and employing your ears more than your mouth you will ultimately become a better sales person and a more effective sales person. It is a simple thing to do that will dramatically enhance your performance and communication style.

I agree that listening to the client is the foremost before making a sales pitch.

I am facing a problem right now as a work at home professional and was wondering if this blog can help me. I quit my job four months ago and things were going great, before my mom and dad turned up to stay with me. That really turned my staying at home boring to say the least. I could not sleep until late in the mornings (I am a night person and work till 3 in the night) and also had to put up with all those friends and relatives who used to pour in to see my parents. Being mediocre people they really could not understand what working at home really was. All this really sucks now and I am absolutely not able to concentrate on my work. In-fact I am have headaches and feel sleepy all day long. I am not able to concentrate in the nights as well.

Do you have a solution for this?
