Everyone loves free stuff, right? I know I do. In fact, I usually will buy more if I am going to get something free. You’re at the store and you need some tomatoes. Lucky for you they have a deal going: buy two cartons and get one free. You really don’t need three tomatoes but you don’t mind having some extras around. Do you buy the extra one to get one free? Maybe or maybe not but most people will.
Offering free items or buy one get one free deals will increase your sales and bring in repeat customers. I did a keyword search using Wordze for the phrase ‘free stuff’ and came up with some outstanding results. That term alone in the last two weeks has averaged about 3,000 searches per day. Your e-business could be cashing in on the success.
Giving away free stuff could potentially put our e-business in the red. So be careful when giving anything away for free. You should properly calculate your ROI or profit before deciding what kind of promotion to hold. At the same time make sure that you are providing quality products for your customers. Make it worth their while.
Some of the promotions that could be held:
• Buy one get one free
• Free shipping on orders over XX amount
• Free e-book
• Free $10 gift certificate with purchase of XX
• Free magnet with any purchase
• Free calendar with any purchase
• Free sample
• Free gift with purchase of XX

If you have decided to start a business, that is great news, but where do you get funding? There are many options out there for people who needed to get funding for a business but aren’t sure where to start.
If you have a decent savings account, you may consider take a small portion out to fund your loan. It would be a worthwhile investment and if you succeed in your new venture you could easily replace the funds.
I do not recommend taking anything out of your 401K or IRA. You could, however, get a loan secured by the funds in these accounts. This is a much safer method.
Getting a loan for a new business is not easy. It will take a lot of convincing. Getting a loan if you have bad credit isn’t easy either. Bad Credit Loans might be able to help with that. If you have a vehicle that you own outright, you could try getting a loan that is secured by that. See Bad Credit Auto Loans.
Do a search for ‘new business investors’ or ’startup business investors’. I just did one in Google and had over 22,000,000 results returned. Investors are a great idea for anyone starting a new business on not sure how to fund it. Make sure you have a great business plan and one spectacular sales speech or letter. Angel Investor Network is a great network for investors and small business owners.
If you can get a government grant for your business, do it! There is no better funding money then money you don’t have to pay back.

We’ve all thought about working from home. Of course working from home has it’s benefits but, as with all other things, there are also cons to working from home. We will discuss the cons later in another post. Here are the reasons why you should work from home and how these benefits can not only prove beneficial to you but your family, the environment, your lifestyle, your health and your wallet.
- You can go to work in your pajamas. Working from home means that no one is going to see you except your family. What does this mean for you? You don’t have to spend extra time getting ready every morning. You can actually work in PJ’s and none of your business associates will know it.
- No commuting to work, well unless you count the seconds it takes to get to your office. Working a normal 9-5 can sometimes mean an hour of driving one way just to get to and from work. Working from home saves time and money that you would normally spend on gas. This even promotes a healthy environment.
- Working from home increases productivity because there are no chatty co-workers to deal with. Co-workers are great, you will probably miss the socialization, but co-workers have a tendency to decrease work productivity.
- You’ll never have to worry about forgetting your lunch at home. How many times have you gone to work, only to realize that you left your turkey sandwich on the counter at home. I hate when this happens! Working from home means you will have your entire fridge only a few yards away. This means the end of paying $1.25 to get a soda or $0.60 for a small snack.
- Breaks can be used to do whatever you want. I mean anything! Watch your favorite TV show, vacuum the floor, do a load of laundry, do a lap in the pool, take a shower, run to the store to get groceries, feed the dog, etc.
- Child care can be done while you work (in most cases). This is a big one for work at home mommies and daddies. Child care can be very expensive but if you work from home you can usually keep your little one close by without disrupting your work. This will create a more positive environment for your family and you will develop a healthy relationship with your children.
- You can live or travel anywhere you want. Even other countries as long as you still have all of the tools needed to perform your work. Usually these are a phone, a computer with an Internet connection and possibly a fax and those are pretty easy to get a hold of, even overseas or at a hotel.
- Working from home means more tax deductions for you. You can deduct some or all of your mortgage/rent, office supplies, computer equipment, telephone bill and materials. Not everything is deductible and there are limits but a good percentage can usually be claimed.
So, if I have convinced you please check out some of our Work at Home Business Ideas or the Work at Home job listings to get a better idea of how you can get started working from home.
