Most successful network marketers will tell you that they get rich by picking the right people for their down line and then training them. As some would say, it’s quality not quanitity that matter. So how do you find the rigth people? And what defines a good network marketer? There are three core elements to look for. It is best to master these yourself then find people with the same qualities.
Enthusiasm goes a long way. If your not excited about your product or business how do you expect any one else to be? Lets say you have a travel business and you are talking to a friend about starting their own business. Show enthusiasm by saying something like, “Hey _______, I just joined a new travel club that gives me discoutns on airfare, hotels, cruises and car rentals. They even set up a website for me so I can share my discounts with others while making a profit. My checks keep getting bigger! I think this is something you would be interested in.” This statement shows you are excited about the product and business therefore your prospect will also get excited. Enthusiasm also goes a long with the second element.
Sales skills are essential to any business. Think about how many times you bought something you didn’t need and knew you would use it. Did you buy this because a salesperson cinvinced you to? Sales skills are usually learned by experience. With time your sales skills and those of your down line will build until you can talk your way out of anything. Every time you speak with someone new about your business write down their objections and your response. Each person is going to have different objections. Try to speak with at least one person per week. Your list of objections and responses will help you in the future and will help your down line. You can give them a copy of your list so they know how to handle certain objections.
My last quality in a good network marketer is time. There are so many ads out there that advertise “$1,000 a day PART-TIME”. All businesses take time and effort to maintain steady profit. Make sure that you and the people in yoru down line are devoting enough time to the business. Once you have a steady stream of income the work does not end there. People will drop off your down line, sales will decline, and you may become lazy. It is important to continue to support your down line and pay attention to your customers. If you don’t have the time to devote to the business then it is probably not a good idea to start one.
