I know you are probably thinking host a what?! I don’t mean go out and rent a meeting room at the fanciest hotel in town, no, try throwing a small party in your backyard. Invite all of your friends, prospects and business contacts. Then tell them to bring at least one guest. This is an awesome way to get the message out about your product or service. Even if you don’t get anyone who is interested you have just told a lot of people that now know what you do and can spread the word.
Make sure to provide plenty of snacks for your guest. Meet with everyone individually and get to know them personally (open-ended questions!). Once everyone is there get their attention and let them know what you are offering. Shar eyour stories and encourage questions.
These ‘confrences’ can be as simple as five people or as intracate as 500. You get to decide what you can afford and how many people you want to meet and greet. Your party should also have a sign in sheet so you can get everyone’s information. After your party be sure to send personalized Thank You cards or letters and include a business card or two. Send these wheather the person signed up with your or not. Kindness goes a long way.
